The website address www.grandmasattic-antiques.com belonged to the business in which I was the manager for four-and-one-half years. When the business closed December 30, 2014. I chose to keep the address and blogs made during those years.
I am half a century old and proud to have achieved this challenge. I am the second child and first girl of a farmer and a bank teller. My parents remained in those field primarily throughout their lifetimes. I have two brother and two sisters. I have two cats that belong to me. One cat and three dogs that belong to my sister but, live with me.
I was raised on an animal farm. My Twelfth year was a pivotal year for me. We received our first television into our home and my Mother became ill and I took over care of the home and siblings.
My interest in writing started in the eighth grade when I won the English Student of the Year award for a creative writing paper. The paper was about the life of a toothpick.
Summer of my Senior year and following High School I worked as a steno typist, and continued with that company for nine years in the secretary/receptionist/switchboard operator/mail clerk fields. I later added light bookkeeping to my list of skills.
At age twenty-one I traveled for the first time to Rome, Italy and Israel. Later, I lived in Guam three years and Germany for one year. I have travel extensively since and love to travel. Thus why I have become a travel writer.
In my forties I returned to school full time and graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Elementary Education. For ten years I taught either first grade or Special Education.
My latest adventure was four and one half years as a manager of a Antique/Flea Market where my favorite thing was researching unusual or antiques items. This is where I began blogging. Blogging about those unusual items and antiques.
I have had three poems published from 1999 to 2014 and I started writing a story about 10 years ago that I would like to complete.
